im hypothyroid and i have been taking thyrox 88 mg for the past 4 mnths and my thyroid is under control, i have been trying to conceive so i visited a gynac. and in the test results it is also found that i have PCO's. so my gynac has suggested to take folic acid once, ecospirin once 150 mg and glycomet- 500 mg thrice a day. Am i following the right medication, will these medicines make me put on weight??? kindly suggest. And al,so would my cycle get normal right from the first mnth after taking hese medications. I would like to know becaus im plannin on pregnancy and want to know my ovulation period correct. pls help
dear ma'm, hi! welcome to HCM. hypothyroid and PCOD are linked problems often. though your thyroid is balanced, you need very good monitoring and delicate balance through out pregnancy. yes you are on the right track. you will not gain weight with these medicines, rather you may lose some if you follow them wisely. periods getting regular might take some time, may be three months. still to be doubly sure about the ovulation you may use TVS or ovulation studies.
