Is There Any Risk If My Wound Gets Sweat After Exercise?

Hi, I fell forwards and hit a curb and had to have stitches in my upper lip, externally. 5 days later and its healing very nicely, its all scabbed over and shrinking day by day. Is it safe for me to exercise and risk getting sweat in the wound? I have kept it dry except for prescribed ointment until now. Thanks!

Hello,

Your wound is now under healing phase. You are taking good care of it.Excessive stress on it like during exercise can cause pressure on stiches and they may gape.Sweating also can cause infection. It will be better to wait till complete healing of wound.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. R.G. Joshi
