Is There Any Side Effect For 6mg Acitrom Dosage After Valve Replacement?

Hi sir i got heart valve replacement in 2005 from that time onwards my doctor suggest me to take Acitrom dosage according to PT INR blood value...but in couple of months my doctor suggest me to take 6mg acitrom daily..any side effects for this dosage..can u answer me sir

Thanks for writing to HCM.
The side effects of high dosage of acitrom include bleeding from various body sites. These may include dangerous bleed in brain or from mouth. The other side effects are skin necrosis esp in early phase.However the dose is high or low is best decided by your physician by looking at INR. This should not be your worry. However you must consult him at earliest sign of abnormal bleeding.
