Is There Any Treatment For Damaged Ear Nerve And Dead Eardrum?

Hello Doctor,At the age of seven i was struck with Scarlet fever,the fever reached 107 or 108 degrees,and due to this fever i sustained nerve and drum damage to my left ear,after yrs. of eveluations with several doctors or ENT s they have determined that my nerve and eardrum is completely dead,my quetion is with medical technology so advance as it is is there hope to replace or fix my ear

Hello,

Yes, few fevers may cause neuromylitis. Lead to degeneration of the nerve. If the lesion at up to cochlea we may use cochlear implants. But if the lesion at the nerve or brain it is difficult to treat. Anyway please share your MRI (brain), pure tone audiometry and tympanogram reports with your doctor and get them reviewed.
