Is There Anything To Worry About The 2 Small Fibroids Detected In Ultrasound?

I am 47, Family Physician sent me an ultrasound (have been bleeding for 3 months-some da some days better then others) Results came back that I have 2 small fibroids, suggested to leave it alone for now. Any research that I have done suggest some kind of action.Looking for another opinion. Thank You Vesna

Hi,
Thanks for the query.
Treatment of fibroids depends on symptoms.
If you have severe bleeding during periods due to fibroids, better to get treated.
Small sized fibroids can be treated with medicines.
So you can use hormonal pills for two to three months with your doctor's advice.
Possibly this can decrease the symptoms.
If the symptoms persist or size of the fibroids increase, you may need surgical intervention.
Usually fibroids will regress after attaining menopause.
So, if hormonal pills decrease the symptoms, you can try medical treatment.
