Is There Something To Be Worried About Small Bony Lump On Butt Crack?

Hi, I m a 22 year old female - I m generally very active and work out (cross trainer or treadmill running) at least 5 days a week for 45-70 minutes. I also have scoliosis - the last time I checked the degree (about 3 years ago), it was at 19. My query is - I ve recently in the last few months noticed a small bony lump just at the top of my butt crack, but more to one side than in the center. It doesn t usually give me much pain, except for in rare situations when I may be sitting/lying on it. When I am conscious of it however, it does hurt slightly when I rub my finger on it. Should I be concerned about this? Thank you :)

Hello,
It may be a simple cyst, but it would be best to have a doctor look at this. If it is a simple sebaceous cyst then it can be removed in the office. Since you have the scoliosis it is best to make sure it is just a skin abnormality and has nothing to do with the spine.
Regards
