Is This Normal Of Getting Pain And Bleeding Once From Catheter Spot?

I have a picc line for antibiotics. I have had it for 2 weeks. I noticed a little bit of pain and I looked and found it had bled a couple of drops from where the catheter enters the skin. It is not bleeding anymore and is not painful. Is this normal?

Hi,

Mentioned pain, it is suggestive of block. Normally it won't cause pain, bleed of a few drops is not alarming. Pain, fever, chills and redness suggest catheter related infection.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
