Is Throwing Up For 2 Days And Feeling Nauseated Some Food Poisoning Or A Virus ?
My 16 year old son has been throwing up for 2 days but has stopped today. He still can t eat because he is so nauseated. He s had 101 temp yesterday and 99 today. He can drink fluids okay but just panics when food is in front of him because he s scared he ll start throwing up again. This came on him fast, just after he ate at a restaurant and driving home it attacked him. Could this be food poisoning or a virus?
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history about your 16 year old son eating at restaurant and started problems driving home 2 days ago. He vomited for 2 days and has stopped now but the nausea is so much that he can not eat anything for fear of vomiting. This is definitely a food poisoning: I would advise him the following: Go to ER or your PCP and get the stool and blood sample tested. Get started an antibiotic, PPI like Omeprazole, Domperidone for nausea along with a probiotic and supportive medications as required from time to time. He will be fine.
