Is Tingling Sensation In The Legs Related To Hypothyroidism?

I have been diagnosed with hypothyroidism the last 7 years. I am not on any medication. My blood work levels are anywhere from a 4 to a 9. The last 3 weeks I ve noticed my left leg tingles when sitting and sometimes when I m walking or standing. Could this be from my thyroid or something else? Thank you

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Tingling in legs can be due to various reasons. It may be due to deficiency of B complex vitamins. It can be due to diabetes also.

As you are already diagnosed with hypothyroidism, it's better to consult an internal medicine specialist and start the medication for hypothyroidism.

Because, being hypothyroid, you will be prone to weight gain, feeling of coldness, constipation, since you didn't mention your sex, you can have menstrual problems if you are women. It's best to consult a doctor soon.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Yasam Lavanya, General & Family Physician
