Is Toxic Multinodular Goiter Treatment With Mercazole Satisfactory?
A matter of days ago a thyroid scan revealed a toxic multinodular goitre, with one only cold spot. GP has commenced treating with Mercazole - 5mg 3 times a day; am having consult with Endocrinologist - 29 th April. Do you consider this present course of action satisfactory and is "time of the essence"?
Hello, I read carefully your concern. To decide about hyperthyroidism treatment and dose, the thyroid hormonal level helpful. If hyperthyroidism confirmed, mercazole would be the right treatment. Normally, 2 weeks after starting it you should recheck the thyroid hormones FT4 and Ft3, to judge about the dose. For a personalised comprehensive evaluation, treatment recommendations, or individual therapy, ask me at HealthCareMagic at this private link: HCM Dr. Guni
