Is Travel Recommended During First Trimester?
Dear Doctor, Just wondering, if it s generally okay to travel by air during first trimester (5 or 6th week). My wife has a planned journey from New Delhi to Bengaluru on 27th Jan, 2014 and her last mensus date is 13.12.2013. Duration of journey is 2.45 hours. Br, Balaji

It is generally considered safe to travel during the first trimester, but then again it is not that simple. Each woman has her specific condition and status, some complicated cases may require bed rest only during the first trimester. So I would recommend a visit to a doctor and getting evaluated, just to make sure all is well, which in most cases is.
