I just found out I have bronchitis, and suppose to fly out on Friday... Its Tuesday, and I have the antibiotics to help. I also have high blood pressure but the bronchitis is pretty bad, almost pneumonia. Is it safe to travel.. Plane ride is 1hr 45 minutes. And then a 45 minute ride. Thanks for your question on HCM.
In my opinion you can fly. No need to worry much.
Bronchitis needs bronchodilator treatment along with antibiotics.
So better to consult pulmonologist and start inhaled bronchodilators.
Inhaled treatment in the form of meter dose inhaler containing LABA (long acting beta 2 agonist) and inhaled corticosteroids are mainstay of treatment.
So better to start this so that your bronchitis can get controlled before air travel.
And you can also use inhaled treatment in plane.
So better to consult pulmonologist and start inhaled treatment.
