Hello welcome to HCM. I have read your question and understand your concerns. Don't worry about your boyfriend. Adequate control of blood sugar levels will prevent all short term and long term complications and you both have a baby definitely. My advice to you is -.
.First get his fbFBS, PP2BS AND HBA1c (3 month average blood sugar levels) and tell your doctor what is the current situation.
. I think his diabetes is still uncontrolled because he has still excessive thirst and urination. Once the blood sugar levels will be controlled, he doesn't have such symptoms. So, don't worry.
.long term diabetes will cause kidney, heart and eyes problems. So, adequate control from beginning is very important.
. strict diet control and regular brisk walking are keys to be healthy in diabetic patients. Thank you. Have a nice day.
