Is Unexplained Blue Bruise On My Thigh Caused Due To Poor Circulation?

Hi I have very itchy inner thighs and I have an unexplained blue bruise on one of my thighs. I am a full time student, and not active. 22 years old, 120 pounds, study all day and then go to an office job where i study even more. the blue bruise does hurt when i touch it, but it is not hard or raised. I do have dry itchy skin everywhere, but lately my thighs have been extremely itchy.

Is this bruise due to poor circulation? could it be another underlying condition?

Hi. Thanks for posting your concern at HCM

I would keep a possibility of scratching leading on to bruise.

As you mentioned that you have extremely itchy inner thighs, that suggests me a possibility of intertrigo/tinea cruris which you may have scrtached vigorously thus leading to bruising.

Bruise is self resolving and once the underlying cause(itching) is taken care off. I normally prescribe an Oral Vit C supplement for faster resolution of bruise.

I would advice that you use an antifungal preparation for the inner thigh itching.

An oral antifungal might be required, either fluconazole or itraconazole under the supervision of a dermatologist.

An oral antihistamine e.g cetrizine once daily will help you get relief from the itching.
