hi i m moni i have been married since last 2 years but couldnot conceive. i have gone through several treatment but every report says i m normal even my husband report is normal. now my doctor advised me to go through the utreus cleaning??? i just want to know is it painful?
Uterus cleaning is Dilatation and Curettage (D&C) means dilation of cervical canal followed by curettage of uterine endometrium will be done. And the endometrial tissue will be sent for hystopathological examination.
By this any endometrial pathology which is hampering the fertility can be known. To alleviate the pain this D&C procedure can be done under anesthesia, either under local or short general anesthesia. If done under local anesthesia, you will be awake but you will have no feeling at procedure area. In short general anesthesia, you will be asleep during the procedure. You discuss these things with your doctor and proceed accordingly.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
