Is Vaginal Bleeding Normal After Silver Nitrate Cauterization For Cervical Ectropion?
Hi i am in the process of getting my cervical ectropion issues fixed. i have been seeing a gynecologist i have been cauterized 3 times. this 4th time i got cauterized with something else called silver nitrate bcs what he was using before would not work. My question is that i got cauterized with silver nitrate a week ago and i have been bleeding on and off since. is this normal? How long does it take to heal from that
Sorry to hear about this recurrent problems. Silver nitrate application is used to treat an ectropion.
It destroys the cells locally and slight bleeding/ spotting and vaginal discharge can last upto 2-3 weeks.
This can persist if an infection sets in. So if there is persistent bleeding or a smell associated with discharge, then it is best to get a gynaecological assessment to rule out infection.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
