Is vasograin more effective in treating migraines? I have chronic migraine.. one sided. very painful.. disrupts my daily life. i have avoided, coffee, chocs and even cheese.. no effect.. i live in the uk so the weather could not be a contributing factor.. no stresss of problems either.
Hi, Vasograin tablet is a combination of ergotamine, paracetamol, caffeine and prochlorperazine. The combination of the above drugs helps in reducing acute pain and gastrointestinal symptoms of acute migraine attacks. If you are getting inadequate relief of pain, other group of drugs called triptans (sumatriptan) can be tried for acute attacks. Vasograin tablet and triptans doesn't help you in decreasing frequency of acute attacks. You shouldn't be taking them frequently. If you have frequent attacks, you need to go for migraine prophylactic drugs like propranolol, flunarizine and others. I hope the above information helps you. I would suggest you to consult your doctor and discuss the above options. Thanks for writing into healthcaremagic. Take care.
