Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
hello, yesterday I was told I have viral enteritis by my GP. I had been in the office the day before with what I thought were muscle cramps. After going home from the first visit I seemed okay and went on about my day. Later on that night my abdominal cramps got worse causing me some concern. After sleeping around four hours that night I woke up and seemed okay then the pains returned. I vomited once and then the cramps seemed to subside a bit. Later on that day I went back to my doctor fearing something more serious. I was examined and the doctor decided to run a few other tests just to rule out something more serious. Blood was drawn, a urine sample was collected, and abdominal x-rays were taken. In the end the doctor told me I had viral enteritis and wrote me a prescription for nausea and stomach cramps. I have vomited a total of three times and am beginning to feel better. However, I never got liquid or runny diarrhea simply VERY frequent bathroom usage on the day of the initial visit. Since the second visit I haven't had many more bowel movements. When I do feel the urge to have a bowel movement all I get is runny yellow mucous. Just a few minutes ago I had my first real bowel movement of the day, it consisted of a few small green semi formed blobs. I am concerned as I am not sure if the green bowel movement is a normal occurrence with this type of thing.
