Hello! I woke up this morning feelings very sick to my stomach. Once I started vomiting it hurt so bad, my vomit was SO thick I had to force it up and it got stuck in my throat.. I couldn't breath and started shaking. And then started to throw up blood, bright red. I Still can't keep anyone down and I have a horrible head ache and extreme stomach pain now! It hurts a lot. I can't even fall asleep. I have IDU in for birth control and recently I have been feeling as if my birth control didn't work and I'm pregnant?! Thanks for your advice!

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi, I understand your concern. The vomiting blood does not suggest pregnancy. It is mostly severe gastritis & many other causes.Blood vomiting is medical emergency ,you need to visit ER immediately to start treatment.. IUD can be of two types- - simple IUd. It has good success rate ,provided it is not displaced/ it has not crossed it's expiry. - Hormonal IUD - due to inbuilt hormones causes irregular/absent menses, along with soreness of breast due to hormones- which may be confused with pregnancy. Thanks.
