Is Yellow Discharge From Ears A Sign Of Virus Infection?
My 3 month old son has just recovered from a 5 day viral infection where only fever was present. He has been seen by 3 doctors who assured me he had only a viral infection and to let it pass. He was extremely fussy and unconsolable. Anyhow, he is fever free for 2 days but now is leaking a yellow, sticky substance from his ear. It has crusted around the lobe and come back after gently cleaning. He does not like me touching his ear but has remained happy. Is this a sign of infection? It is enough that it has spilled onto his blankets.

So don't put any water or liquid into the ear. Avoid cool water consumption. Use water vapor inhalation and salt water gargling thrice a day for five days.
