Itchy Rashes On Back, Spreading To Neck, Waist And Arm, Bruise On Back And Arm. Scabies?
My mother has severe rash . Very itchy. On her back now spreading to neck , waist and arms. She is in a residential home. Some other residents and staff also have itching. My mother also has bruises on her back and arm. The unconfirmed diagnosis so far is scabies but I m not sure whether this correct. Could the bruised skin indicate a different cause for the skin irritation?
yes there can be other causes for the rash, as other members of the home have the same symptoms. Scabies is very contagious and causes rash and itch. so it is very likely that your mother has scabies. Does your mother suffer from diabetes or is she using any medicine for other illness such as steroids or immunosuppressive drugs. In people with these issues scabies tend to be very aggressive this is what we call Norwagian scabies. if you have any other queries do contact me.
