Itchy Reddish Patch On Scalp. What Could This Be?

Hi ,my husband is having a itchy reddish patch on my scalp just behind ear.it is not spreading but kind of very itchy when exposed to sun. adn also he is having white patches on his hands which will become red when exposed to sun. they are slightly itchy too. he is applying some moisturizer and the itchiness is gone.but scalp patch is not going
Having an appointment on 9th with dermatologist but want to know what exactly itis

Thanks for the query

He might have developed fungal infection.

Please get a KOH mount done,

This can confirm the fungal etiology.

Treatment can be with oral antifungals as well as with topical antifungals.

Please meet a dermatologist for exact diagnosis.
