Itchy Scalp, Hard Knots Under Scalp, No Blister Or White Head. Treatment?

My son has been itching his scalp ,but when I checked he has knots under his scalp all over his head. they are somewhat hard, do not have any blister or white head, they are about the size of a dime and they are itching. I check for lice and did not find any. Should I be concerned? Please advise.

Hello,
Thanks for the query,

He might be suffering from head lice.

It is quiet common infection an child hood.

It will be better to give an application of permethrin.

Also give an anti histamine tablet.

Please meet a dermatologist for exact diagnosis.

And get the medication prescribed.

Let me know if you have any other doubt.
