Large Bulging Red Bump Like Pimple Formation On Stretch Mark, Little Itching. No Pain. Concerning?
I have old stretch marks on my side and one of them has developed a large bulging red bump that I took to be a pimple-type formation. Well, it has been a few weeks and not only has it not come to a head, but the color has changed to a deep purplish red. It doesn t really hurt anymore, but it does itch a little. Should I be concerned about it and/or have it looked at?
I am so sorry to hear about this bump and the troubling thoughts this has caused you.
Assuredly, you do not need to worry about this so much. From the information you have provided, it most likely represent a subcutaneous hematoma (Bleed under the skin). At times it can be spontaneous or caused by trauma. The colour change is consistent with the various changes that take place during blood resorption.
Because it doesn't hurt anymore and only itches a little, all i would suggest is monitoring over the next weeks. I should slow regress fully without any medical intervention.
I hope this answers your query fully and provides relief to your worries. Iw ish you well. Thanks. Dr. Ditah, MD
