left lower quadrant pain and excessive abnormal menses prompted my gyn to order an US pelvic sonogram (non-ob) and transvaginal pelvic US. outcome: complex cystic mass on left ovary measuring 5.2 cm x 5.8 cm. Mural solid soft tissue nodule noted within the cyst with no significant intracystic vascularity. What would be the treatment options for such a result? Would this require biopsy or any kind of surgery?
