Left Sided Facial Pain, Gum Inflammation, Severe Headache, Tongue Tingling. Wisdom Tooth Problem?

Hi, for the past 4 months I have been having pain on the left sift side of my face. My gums on that side are inflamed, my throat feel like there is something in it almost, headache , and tongue tingles. It is solely on the left side of my mouth. Would this be a wisdom tooth problem. I have been to a dentist and he said yes. I have an impacted wisdom tooth on that side that is laying horizontally as well as an ENT and she was not sure. The ENT looked in and around my ear, nose, and throat and said everything looked healthy. Would wisdom tooth cause those sort of problems???

Hi,
Impacted wisdom tooth can produce facial pain tingling tongue and left sided headache.Gum and tooths are supplied by sensory nerves which also supply face and head (trigeminal nerve), so once nerve is irritated it can produce unbearable pain. You need to sort out actual problem by consulting dentist. You also need to take neuralgic drugs for relief of such painsNeed to consult neurologist also

Hi ,
Impacted lower wisdom tooth can cause so many problems because of its critical position and the passage of some facial nerves near it.
my advice to you is that you see a dental surgeon and have this tooth extracted.
meanwhile, analgesics and NSAID's may help easing the pain

wish you good luck..

Mainly the pain and swelling is there when the wisdom teeth get infected. When it is infected one can have following sign and symptoms relating to wisdom teeth: Pain in Gums;Swollen and Inflamed Gums;Swelling in Jaw;Bad Taste in Mouth;Bad Breath;Headache..

Hello there...this is a very common complaint from the patients....unerupted (impacted), infected third molars would cause various kinds of problems....right from the gum pain, gum swelling, pus in the gums, inability to open mouth, pain radiating to the lower part of the lower jaw, middle ear, left side of the head ( temple region). Third molar is a vestigeal tooth that really does not serve any purpose...as long it is harmless there are no issues...once that starts bothering you get it removed...Experts like Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons can handle it better...Get it removed...
