Leg Strength Lost After Muscle Wastage Occurred Due To Disc Rupture. Can It Be Repaired?

in 2002 I had 4 discs rupture in my back, since then have had muscle wastage occur in my right leg (2 inches loss) this has resulted in a loss of strength in leg. Can the muscle be repaired? I did have surgery which repaired the back problem completely.
