Light Period, Pregnancy Test Positive While Bleeding And Negative After. Suggestion?
Hi, I was due my period on the 23rd September but I had unprotected sex on the 21st, I haven't had what I call a proper period I've just had on and off really light bleeding since the 25th, I know it's far too early but I took a pregnancy test on the 25th while I was bleeding very lightly and it came back positive, I did another test a few hours later when the bleeding had stopped and that test was negative..can you please help me? I don't know what's going on :(

Tranvaginal sonography is useful to see the uterine cavity is empty.
othervise evacuation of uterine curettage should be done.

Hi,
With an unprotected intercourse just before a period is due, you cannot conceive. What you are seeing looks like a delayed incomplete period, probably due to some hormonal imbalance. A HPT at this stage cannot give conclusive results. You should either wait for a few days to perform the test again with a fresh early morning sample of urine or go for the blood pregnancy test which is specific and sensitive too. If you had unprotected sex 2 days prior to your expected date of periods,there is no chance of conception.( Because the ovulation is 14 days prior to expected date of periods.)
Urine pregnancy test can be false +ve,in case the urine is contaminated ,mixed with blood or urine cotainer is not sterilised.
That is why your urine test was false +ve first,but next time,when bleeding had stopped it was -ve.
