Losing Weight, Constipation, Pain After Eating. Recovering From Salmonella Infection. Suggest Diet?

My son recovered from salmonella typi about 2months ago, he has lost a lot of weight, and still can get constipated.
After eating he suffers from some pain. He can still get constipated. I recently started watching his diet again. I am incorporating a lot of cooked vegetables. I've heard not to give him dairy but is yogurt alright to give?
what can I give him so he can gain some weight?

Hello there!
salmonellosis is easily treatable disease and yes gut is disturbed in it.
well dairy is not forbidden., the main theme behind the diet frame is any thing which is easily digestible and the the gut transit time is not increased as it increases the odds of enteric perforation, so yougurt, custard, and all soft diets can be used with no worries., but a best way to do it will be consult a dietrician or nutritionist , and dont worry he will gain weight, fever increases the metabolism and now that he is recovering he will get back to normal weight

cheers
