Loss Of Breath And Rapid Heart Beat

Every so often I feel like i lose my breath and with that my heart beats rapidly for a few seconds. This tends to happen more when I m napping in the afternoon. This has been an issue for a few months now and I m scared of what it may be. Any suggestions on what it would be. Thanks for your help.
