Loss Of Vision, Light-headed, Dizziness. Eye Pressure Normal, No Glaucoma. Stroke Symptoms?
I am 66 yrs old. In good health, but have experienced loss of vision about three (3) times of last 6 months. Am a bit light headed and dizzy when I wake in the morning. I went to the opthamologist last month and he said my eye pressure is normal and I do not have glaucoma . I do have cataracts, but not blinding. Is it possible I am having strokes or seizures?
Eye symptoms may occur in minor strokes. These include double vision, transient vision loss, loss of vision in one half of the visual field, etc.
Please screen for the stroke risk factors such as BP, diabetes, cholesterol, etc. If found they require treatment. MRI and MR angiogram would help in further evaluation of stroke.
GOOD guess as this age group is at risk, lightheadedness and riversible loss of vision suggest a TIA.You need to under go doppler study of both carotid artery and echocardiography to detect the source of emboli.
YOU need full check up by neurologist or neurosurgeon.
