Lump At The Butt Crack. Could This Be A Cyst Caused By Long Sitting Hours At Work?

Hi I've started my new job about 4 months ago as a watch repair technician so I'm constantly sat down 8 hours a day 5 days a week. Just recently it's been hurting so much to sit down or even lie down but when I'm standing or walking I'm fine. I tried to massage the area and noticed a lump just at the crack could it b a cyst?

Hello,
Thanks for the query.

You might have developed pilonidal sinus.

The butt crack has lot of hair and due to pressure these hair are pushed inside and lead to sinus formation.

These are also prone to develop bacterial infections.

Treatment is with antibiotics and complete removal of the sinus.

Please meet a surgeon for exact diagnosis.

Let me know if you have any other doubt.

you can ask a direct question to me on this forum, following the below link.
