Lump In Throat, At The Back Of The Mouth, Difficulty Swallowing, Can Feel It When Saliva Touches It
There is this annoying and uncomfortable thing (don t know what) at the place that is close to my throat but not quite, like at the back of my mouth upwards in the tube near my nostrils. Every time I do the thing that you do when you swallow something it hurts. I am sure it is not something stuck there. Also when I swallow my saliva I can also feel it. What do I do?
Hi
Most probably you have inflammation in the upper part of throat. Commonly it is due to infection, often viral. This is the reason for your pain.
So take rest.
Avoid mental and physical stress as much as possible.
Take plenty of warm water.
Do steam inhalation.
Take a pain killer if it hurts much.
But if pain increases (suspecting secondary invasion by bacteria) then you will need a course of antibiotic (Co-amoxyclav).
For this you can consult an ENT specialist.
Wish you good health.
