Lump On Right Finger, Hard, Painful When Pressure Is Applied. Cyst?

I have a lump on my right ring finger, near the base of the finger (that puts it in the middle of that section of bone). It is on the palm side of the finger. It is hard and does not seem to move around. It is not painful itself, but hurts when pressure is applied. Wondering if this sounds like a cyst, or what further investigation should be made.

This could possibly be a cyst.Has it been formed due to a prior injury? If the size is big or restricting your movements or associated with pain (suggestive our infection) you may consult your doctor so that it can be excised.Hope this helps.Take care.
