Lump On The Head, Pain. Child Fell Down In School. Cure?
Hi my daughter is 6 years old. She was in school about a week ago and she fell in class. She hit her head and there was a huge lump. the nurse said she should rest and not play for much a day or two, but now its a week later and the bump went down but there is still a very visible lump on her head. that is hard and she sometimes says her head hurts. I don't know what to do. I think I should make a doctors appointment but everybody says if its not soft then not to worry. what should I do? IM WORRIED
Hi, Thank you for your query. At this stage after your daughter's injury, the tissues will still be healing so a lump may still be present which may still be tender. Initially, there would have been a bruise which is a collection of blood in the tissues. As this resolves the area can feel quite firm. This would be the normal healing process. I would recommend that you do not need to visit your doctor. The lump is likely to disappear over the coming days. If there is some pain then paracetamol will help. I hope this has been of help to you.
