What does 6-10/HPF squamous epithelial cells mean on a urine culture when the results say 'adequate quality' and ' multiple organisms present, each less than 10,000CFU/ml. Organisms, commonly found on ext and int genitalia, are considered to be colonizers. No further testing.

Thanks for query.multiple bacteria less than 10,000 implies contamination.it should be considered uti only in cystoscopic samples.and treatment is needed if symptoms persists.otherwise its normal culture report.
