Medical Termination Of Pregnancy, Shy Of Visiting Clinic, Prescribed Mifepriston 200 Mg And Misoprostols. Complications?

Hello Doc Myself, Deepak and I am from Raipur, Chhattisgarh, India. I have been married for 1.5 years. My wife Sonali is pregnant by 40-45 days. We are not ready for kids right now and therefore, need medical termination of pregnancy. But the problem is my wife is very shy and not willing to visit any Gyno clinic. Our family doctor (mbbs) suggested her to take one Mifepriston 200 mg - Mtpill cipla follwed by 2 misoprostols - Misoprost cipla (after 48 hours). But I am little doubtful as I read about it on Internet that it can cause complications. Suggestion please

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi welcome to HCMForum. Any drugs oral or p.v used for MTP have complications like over bleeding pain in the stomach hours together compelling the patient to go to the
doctor for evacuation. instead if she go to gynic can get cleared in few minutes go home with peace. Latter if you want to post pone prdgnancy further you can opt long
acting contraceptive injection or IUCD or condome according to your preferance. thank you.

Hi Deepak....
Thank u for choosing HCM...

Most of the side effects when using this early abortion option are caused by the second medication, misoprostol. Side-effects may include heavy bleeding, headache, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and heavy cramping.
If pregnancy is continued after taking these medications, there is a high risk of fetal deformities.
Abortion Medication may be an option if you:

-Are less than 8 weeks since your last menstrual period.
-Are willing and able to give informed consent.
-Have the support you need such as access to reliable transportation and ability to communicate with the clinic by telephone.
-Live no more than 2 hours away from emergency medical care (a hospital).
-Are able to come back to the clinic for 1 to 3 follow-up appointments.
-Agree to have a surgical abortion if the misoprostol does not induce termination.

Ideally medication should be taken in medical supervision..
Convince your wife for doctor visit to avoid complication..

Thank u...
