Menopausal. DNC, Hysteroscopy Done Two Weeks Ago. Still Bleeding. Matter Of Concern?
Hi, I had DNC and Hysterscopy done two weeks ago, my aftercare nurse advised that I should only have light bleeding for maybe 2-3 days then it should turn dark and go away. I am still bleeding bright red - it was kinda heavy last night and woke up to a mess this morning. I have my f/u with my GYN on Saturday. I am 56 years old, have gone through menopause already and this is the second time for DNC and Hysteoscopy in two years. should I be overly concerned at this point or just wait until my f/u Saturday?
Hi, thanks for using Healthcare magic. The most common causes for bleeding in postmenopausal age groups are - endomterial atrophy, hyperplasia and ca cervix. Ca cervix should not be present or else it would have been diagnosed by your gyn doctor before. Hyperplasia will be diagnosed on biopsy after your D&C. Maybe the gyn has given you an appointment to see the results. If you are having bright red bleed even after two weeks of D&C it is a matter of concern and you should get checked up immediately. Please dont wait till saturday and get an appointment today itself. If you are unable to get an appointment with the same gyn show it to some other doctor.
Hope you get healthy soon, Regards,
