Metallic Taste In Mouth, Balance Problems, Mumbles. Found Face Down On Beach. Low Blood Sugar Or Heat Stroke?
neighbor's son was found face down on beach,was seen by people answering 911 call. they thought he was diabetic and had low blood sugar. His mother thought he had heat stroke as temp was over 94 degrees (florida).He hasn't seen a doctor in over 20 yrs. He now says he has a metallic taste in his mouth and has balance problems and sometimes mumbles and seems disoriented. He doesn't want to see a doctor and has no health ins. He rides 6 or 7 miles to beach and takes plenty if water and snacks. his mother is very worried he's 51 yrs old , not overweight and appears to be in very good physical condition. Hi thanks for your question. the best would be to have him examined in detail by doctor and blood tests ,CT of the head carried out HOWEVER since he does not want I can just give advice metallic taste in mouth could be due to infection in oral cavity most especially salivary glands, poisoning with lead and mercury, ingestion of some drugs and herbs and some lesions in brain.
