Migrane Pain Behind The Eyes, Visual Disturbances After Sneezing, Dizziness While Standing And Tinnitus. Am I A VP Shunt Candidate?
nullI am female 23 and have had for lumbar punctures. The first lumbar puncture was done because they thought I had meningitis the second the levels right 24 the third 35 and the last 19. For the last three years I've had migraines pain behind my eyes endemia behind my eyes and visual disturbances. The most concerning visual disturbances have good loss of eyesight and seeing flurries spots after I sneeze. I also get dizzy while standing have constant pulsating tinnitus and sharp pains in my head. I have been Topamax, diamox and zonside. I am currently on diamox now 500mg a day with no relief. The only relief I feel is from lumbar punctures afterwards. My question is would I be considered a VP shunt candidate? I am miserable and cannot not take the pain or lack of brain function from this condition and am open to any suggestions.
Migrine pain does not occure behind eye.It is sevior neurlgic pain preceded by aura, headache, nausea and vomiting . It last for few hours to 2 to3 days. Ocular symptoms include blurring of vision, sudden black out. It may affect ocular muscle paralysis, always mono ocular causing diplopia. You have mentioned about taking dimox tablet this is taken for glaucoma. Patient is asked to avoid any stressful work which precipitate attack. For vomiting can be taken Avomine or Donperidon. For headache Migranil may be taken or Paracetamol, Hifenac P can be taken. Correction of refractive error is essential.
