Mild Apical Plural Thickening Of The Lungs. Enlarged Lungs. Severe Cough Due To Upper Respiratory Infection. Have Acid Reflux. Are These Related?

My lungs aare normally inflated and clelar. There is mild apical pleural thickening. However, I had a pulmonery function test and ran out of breath on first test, was informed that my lungs are now enlarged. I have had a severe cough since January as a result of upper respiratory infection. I also have had acid relfux. could these things have caused this?

Pulmonologist 's  Response
sOME TIMES MILD APICAL PLEURAL THICKENING IS SEEN FOR WHICH NO CAUSE IS FOUND AND AT TIMES IT COULD BE A SIGN OF SOME OTHER DISEASE. HYPER INFLATED LUNGS ARE SEEN IN CERTAIN CONDITIONS LIKE ASTHMA/COPD ETC. COUGH COULD BE A RESULT OF ACID REFLUX OR IT COULD BE BECAUSE OF ASTHMA/COPD. YOU SHOULD CONSULT A PULMONOLOGIST WHO CAN HAVE A LOOK AT YOU AND SEE THINGS IN CORRECT PERSPECTIVE AND ADVISE YOU ACCORDINGLY.
