Normally after delivery during lactation normally there is amenorrhea that is absence of period but that is not absolutely safe to have unprotected sex.
It is possible to start ovulating and pregnancy is certainly possible, you should do urine pregnancy test if positive then consult Gynecologist and can continue pregnancy.
If pregnancy there is early pregnancy then you may have option of MTP( Medical Termination of Pregnancy)
If test is negative then also consult Gynecologist and rule out pregnancy by Beta HGC and transvaginal ultrasonography. Once if pregnancy is ruled out you can use some contraceptive method. There are many option available.
