Could My Wife S Hollow Sound In Her Head, Chronic Headaches, And Ear Issues Be Related?

My wife taps her head and complains of a hollow sound. She said sometimes it changes what side she hears it from. What I do know: she has ear issues in her left heart, she suffers from chronic headaches, she has a dysfunctional ear canal for which she has a tube in her ear. Can these things be related and can an ear infection last such a duration (like 3 years?) Or could a sinus infection be the cause of chronic headaches? Is the hollow sound something to be concerned of? If underlying brain issues?
