Nausea, Spotting And Tiredness. Urine Test Negative But Been Asked To Wait. How Do I Proceed?

I am a 31 year old Black woman. (i put that because maybe you need it). For the past week and a half i have been spotting (brown discharge) and have been very nauseus and tired. I went to my primary because i didn't really think i was pregnant. My primary's stand in didn't really care and did nothing but a urine test which cleared me for pregancy and UTI's, etc. I called my gyno and she said if the urine test was negative then i'm definately not pregnant. My OB said to wait another week because as my period started 09/23/2013 last month, it could be my period. When i touch the top of my stomach (right under my breasts) and press down, it makes the nausea worse. Should i just wait it out or is there something i can do now (especially to counter the nausea? Thank you
