Neck Has A Ripping Sound When Stretched. Why Does It Hurt In Movement Now?
The other morning I woke up and stretched as usual but when I pushed my neck back there was a ripping sound and then a pop after and immediately had pain after and now it hurts to move my neck to one side or bend it. I put one of those heating pads on it and toke a muscle relaxer and it seemed to help a little but is there anything else I can do to make this go away at all? Or does it just go away on its own?
I have studied your case. Due to compression of this nerve root there can be popping sensation on stretch. I will advise you to MRI cervical spine for better diagnosis.
For these symptoms analgesic and neurotropic medication can be started. Till time, avoid lifting weights, Sit with support to back. You can consult physiotherapist for help. Physiotherapy like ultrasound and interferential therapy will give quick relief. I will advise to check your vit B12 and vit D3 level.
Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.
Wishing you good health.
Take care
