Neck Pain, Headache, Sweating, Diarrhea, Sinus Drainage, Migraine. Treatment?

First I get neck pain, then my head hurts, hot sweats, dirreahea, nausea, vomiting flem, cold sweats. I get a lot of sinus drainage. Had my sinuses check and their okay. My doctor says sinus. The hospital says migrains. This started when I was thirty. Now I'm 47 and still dealing with it. My daughter turned thirty and she gets sick now with the same issues along with my sister but hers isn't as bad.

Neurologist 's  Response
Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

Based on your symptoms, I would prefer a diagnosis of migraine or cluster headache. The symptoms are not suggestive of sinus, and moreover, your doctor has cleared you of sun sinus issues.

There are good preventive medications for both migraines and cluster headache. These include divalproex, beta blockers, diltiazem, etc. For symptom releif, medications that could help are sumatriptan or rizatriptan.

Please consult a neurologist for opinion.

I hope it helps.

Best wishes,
Dr Sudhir Kumar MD DM (Neurology)
