Need Advice On Medicines Prescribed For Vomiting And Loose Motion.

My grand daughter is vomiting and has loose motions( watery) since four days . Our family child specialist has given her Entimizole Syrup, Cefspan antibiotic, Gutcare and pedialite solution. But she has still the same problem. She has gone very weak . He suggests if she does not improve today then she should be injected Rocephene 500 mg antibiotic 1/2 cc daily for 5 days. She is 16 months old. Please advise.

Hello dear, welcome to heelthcare magic forum.
Acute diarrhea usually takes about 4-5 days for resolution.During this, the main aim of management is correction of dehydration by small but frequent sips.If severe vomiting is preventing child from oral sips, intravenous fluids should be started at the earliest.Child looking weak means, there is significant dehydration, which is an emergency.Take the child to hospital soon.Paranteral antibiotics are used when fever/bloodstained stools continues even after 3-4 days of oral antibiotics.
Wihing a faster cure.Thank you.
