Need Medication For Cough Which Can Be Felt In Chest

I have had a head cold for the past week, which has now gone into my chest--dry, mostly non-productive coughing and generally feeling crappy. I took my temperature first thing this morning and several hours later. Both times, it was 94 degrees. Should I see my doctor? No other symptoms.

Hello dear, thanks for your question on HCM.
I can understand your situation and problem.
In my opinion you should not worry much.
You are having viral URTI (upper respiratory tract infection) mostly. And dry cough is the sequel of viral URTI. So it will mostly go by its own with time.
You need to drink plenty of fluids and keep yourself hydrated. Avoid spicy and oily food.
If not improving in 5-7 days then consult doctor and ask for cough medicine like antihistamines and anti inflammatory.
Don't worry, you will be alright.
