Hello, I can understand your concern for itchy scalp with dandruff problem in yourself. Dandruff is common problem and occurs due to falling of dead skin form the scalp. The dead is formed in excess in some of the persons and therefore appears as dandruff. More of dandruff causes itching and flaking of the scalp and therefore can cause secondary infection. In my patients with your kind of problem I prefer to suggest the patients to wash the scalp eery day with mild shampoo. Additionally a lotion containing betamethasone or fluticasone can be applied to reduce more flaking. Additionally an antihistamine like loratdaine can be taken for 1-2 times per day. All the best.
