Need Treatment For Roaring Sound In The Ears

For about 2 months, I have experienced roaring in my left ear. It goes away when I am lying down at night and returns early mornings. It is not constant, comes and goes thru out the day. I have taken 2 antiobitics but still have the the roaring. Sometimes slightly dizzy, but soon goes away. Just saw ENT, he didn't know what it was.

roaring in the ear is known as Tinnitus,Tinnitus is a subjective feeling ,in which patient seems hearing a hissing roaring sort of noise.
Tinnitus itself is not a disease but its a symptom
it can be because of either circulatory problem or age related ,inner ear injuries or it can be idiopathic(cause unknown)
as you say sometimes you feel dizzy also ,our ear has three parts outer ,middle and inner
inner ear is involved in hearing and maintaining balance of the body
As you feel tinnitus and dizziness also most likely your inner ea is envolved
there are many condition which may cause this
anaemia
vestibular neuritis
menieres disease
any injury to inner ear
you have not mentioned your age
i would suggest you to go for
-pure tone audiometry test
-complete hemogram
-a physical examination for nystagmus is to be done to rule out vestibular neuritis(as a high dose methyl prednisolone therapy will be given if it is suspected)
till that time i will suggest you to take
tablet ginkocer(extracts of ginko biloba ) leaves thrice daily
for dizziness
you can take tablet betahistine 8mg twice daily for few days
but in many cases timnitus remains idiopathic and is still a topic of research of many medical fraternities!!!
